Accessibility should not stay a never-ending project.

friendlyuse grew out of a simple observation: for most teams, accessibility is a project that never ends. The widget starts where visitors benefit right away, and supports the work that continues in the background.

Mission

Every visitor should be able to use a website the way they need to.

Many websites are hard to read or use if you have low vision, find text hard to follow or cannot use a mouse. Making a website truly accessible often takes months. friendlyuse gives visitors aids they switch on themselves from day one, and a free scan shows site owners where to start in the code.

How we work

Honest about what a widget can and cannot do.

Some vendors promise “accessibility in one click”. No widget can deliver that. So we say clearly what friendlyuse is good for.

What the widget can do

  • Visitors adjust text, contrast, reading aids and controls themselves
  • It helps from the first minute, without a relaunch or changes to your design
  • It remembers choices locally in the visitor’s browser

What it cannot do

  • It does not repair code: you fix missing labels, alt text and contrast yourself
  • It does not make a website legally compliant, under the EAA or any other law
  • It does not replace a WCAG audit or accessible development

No compliance promises

We do not promise that a widget makes a website compliant with the law. No widget can.

Data-minimal

Settings stay in the browser. For statistics we count unique visitors via a hash, without storing raw IP addresses.
