In a sample of 100 German online shops, 3 in 10 checkouts could not be completed entirely by keyboard. Shops with accessible checkouts recorded an average 12% higher conversion rate.
Despite the BITV obligation in force since 2019, our analysis shows that only 23% of municipal websites meet the minimum requirements. The most common shortcoming: a missing or outdated accessibility statement.
